Clwb Cymric 0-1 Treforest

Cymric went into this match knowing that victory could see them safe from relegation but they faced a Treforest side who are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table and have made several signings to strengthen their chances.

Treforest started the much better side with Cymric looking like they were suffering because of their exploits on Tuesday night. Treforest had a few gilt edged chances but they weren’t able to get the better of James Hendy in the Cymric goal. It took Cymric half an hour to get their first real effort on goal when a Huw Owen shot was well saved by the Treforest keeper.

Treforest came out with purpose again at the start of the second half but Cymric matched them and created a few half chances, but nothing of real note. It was Treforest who took a deserved lead 10 minutes into the half when a shot from outside the box took a wicked deflection that left James Hendy wrong footed and the ball ended up in the back of the net. Treforest then managed the game very well and made sure that Cymric were limited to half chances only by protecting their keeper.

Cymric did have a couple of half chances but nothing of note. Treforest held out for a well-deserved victory which gave them three valuable points.
