Roedd chwaraewyr Cymric yn ysu i ddychwelyd i’r maes yn dilyn tair wythnos heb gêm ac roedd hyn yn amlwg wrth i Cymric chwalu tîm ifanc Llantwit yn yr hanner cyntaf.

Nid oedd rhaid aros yn hir am y gôl gynta, gyda Caio Iwan yn anfon y gôl-geidwad y ffordd anghywir o’r smotyn, ar ôl i Tom Pritchard gael ei lorio ar ôl rhediad gwych fewn i’r cwrt cosbi.

Daeth yr ail o gic cornel wrth i’r bêl ddisgyn i Caio Iwan oddeutu 12 llath allan. Ychwanegodd yntau at y sgôr wrth iddo daro ergyd trwy dorf o amddiffynwyr gan roi dim gobaith i’r gôl-geidwad.

Roedd hi’n dair ymhen dim amser wrth i Ryan David sgorio o 30 llathen ar ôl cliriad Steve Cope a’r golwr yn penderfynu mynd ‘walkabout’.

Roedd y bedwaredd yn nodweddiadol o’r cyd-chwarae taclus cyson lawr y chwith, gyda Ynyr James yn enwedig yn eithriadol o weithgar. Yn dilyn cyfres o beli byr, cywrain, llwyddodd Osian Pritchard i ddianc o’r amddiffynwyr a tarodd daran o ergyd yn erbyn y traws, ond roedd ei frawd Tom Pritchard yn aros am y bêl wrth iddi ddisgyn o’r awyr a taro foli nerthol i gefn y rhwyd.

Erbyn hyn roedd Cymric ar dân, yn creu cyfleoedd di-ri a gyda’r pedwar blaenwr yn enwedig wrth eu boddau. Doedd hi felly ddim yn annisgwyl wrth iddynt neud hi’n 5-0. Tro yma, Tom Bach oedd yn creu a Ryan David yn gorffen.

Ond doedd Cymric heb orffen, gyda Ryan David yn cyflawni ei hat-trick wrth iddo lobio’r golwr o du allan y cwrt cosbi ar ôl iddo gael ei ganfod gan Osian Pritchard.

Daeth Llantwit allan yn ddewr yn yr ail hanner gan achosi ychydig fwy o broblemau i amddiffyn Cymric ar ddechrau’r ail hanner. Ond roedd yr amddiffyn o Llyr, Vince, Dyl ac Ynyr yn gadarn trwy gydol y gêm.

Roedd y cae yn dechrau dioddef yn yr ail hanner gan achosi safonnau uchel Cymric yn yr hanner cyntaf i gwympo. Sgoriodd Tom Bach y 7fed wrth iddo ymateb yn gylfym i benio’r bêl i’r rhwyd ar ôl Caio Iwan benio cic gornel gan Osian Pritchard nôl tua’r gôl.

Gorffennodd y gêm yn 7-0 a bydd Cymric yn obeithiol o adeiladu ar y canlyniad yn y flwyddyn newydd a dechrau dringo’r tabl.

Having not played for three weeks the Cymric players were itching to get back into action and it showed as a dominant Cymric battered a young Llantwit side in the first half.

The first goal did not take long to arrive, with Caio Iawn sending the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot. The penalty was awarded as a marauding Tom Pritchard cut back from the byline and was brought down.

The second goal came from a corner that was only half cleared to 12 yards out where Caio Iwan was on hand to double his personal tally and the scoreline. His strike flew through a crowd of bodies leaving the Llantwit keeper helpless.

The third swiftly followed as a clearance/through ball from Steve Cope left the Llantwit keeper in no man’s land and Ryan David took it first time to slot home from 30 yards.

The fourth goal resulted from excellent football down the Cymric left, with Ynyr James heavily involved in a first-rate performance at left back. Short, sharp passing led to the ball being played through to Osian Pritchard in the penalty area whose shot smashed the crossbar and ballooned into the air. Tom Pritchard kept his concentration and connected with the descending ball on the volley from 8 yards out to hammer the ball into the net.

Cymric were now flying, creating chances at will and with the front four in clinical mood, it was not long until it was 5-0. This time it was Tom Davies the provider, lobbing a through ball to Ryan David who took a touch into the box and finished past the keeper.

Cymric were not done, and made it 6-0 before half time. Osian Pritchard found Ryan David outside the box, who spotted the keeper off his line, looped a shot over the keeper into the net. Llantwit were glad to hear the referee whistle for half time.

Llantwit came out bravely in the second half and fought to try to gain a consolation goal, but Cymric’s defence was not to be breached. The pitch started to cut up in the second half meaning the standard of play, particularly Cymric’s, suffered.

Tom Davies bagged the only goal of the half with a sharp header in the six-yard box after an Osian Pritchard corner had been flicked towards the danger area by Caio Iwan. The game finished 7-0 and Cymric will be hoping to build on this result in the new year and start climbing the table.
